What an IPC effectivity line tells you
Effectivity ties a catalog row to the aircraft serial range printed for that row. In the reviewed Hawker IPC export, the published ATA 32 records on this site carry effectivity 8266-8999. The same rows also carry a figure, item, nomenclature, and quantity. Those fields need to be read as one record, not as separate search results. The technical source supports the values as printed.
Effectivity does not tell you the condition of a unit on a shelf. It does not verify its modification state, traceability, release paperwork, or approval for installation. Those checks belong to the specific aircraft and the specific unit being offered.
Serial-number check sequence
- Record the complete aircraft identity. Use the model and full aircraft serial number from the aircraft records. Do not work from a shortened number in an email subject line.
- Open the current applicable IPC. Check its title, revision, publication scope, and any revision or effectivity notes before relying on a row.
- Find the system figure and exact item. A matching part number elsewhere in the catalog can provide context, but the applicable figure and item are the working reference.
- Read the whole row. Check part number, suffix, nomenclature, quantity, effectivity, modification wording, and any CMM or service-bulletin reference.
- Compare the removed unit. Keep the removed-unit part number, serial number, data-plate details, and known modification state with the request.
- Resolve conflicts before ordering. A catalog typo, conflicting CMM reference, or supplier cross-reference is a stop point. Use current approved data to resolve it.

This distinction matters when two records have similar names. AC65216 and AC65218 are both Maxaret assemblies, but the IPC assigns them to different wheel positions. A serial range match does not erase that position assignment.
Information to put on the sourcing request
Give the parts source enough information to check the same record you checked:
- aircraft model and full serial number
- exact part number, including dash number and suffix
- removed-unit part number and serial number when available
- ATA chapter, IPC figure, and item
- required condition and release documentation
- traceability requirements
- known modification state or service-bulletin status
- quantity required and whether a core is available
That list reduces the chance of quoting a number that looks close but belongs to a different position or configuration.
Stop points that need approved data
Stop and resolve the record when the serial number falls outside the printed effectivity, the offered number differs from the IPC row, the modification state is missing, or two source rows disagree. The AC69784 record is a good example: its identity and effectivity agree across two reviewed rows, but the rows print different CMM references. The conflict stays visible until current technical data resolves it.
